If there is one thing my photographing adventures have taught me over the years it is that it is almost always worth it to take the time and explore. There are so many photos that make me stop to think about how close I came to not experiencing at all because I wasn’t sure if it would be worth it.
On this trip I almost didn't stop. All that could be seen from the bottom of the mountain was the underside of the clouds, and I wasn't sure it would be worth the gondola fee to the top of the mountain. The clouds seemed to be moving through the area quickly though, so I decided to go for it, on the slim chance that there would be worthwhile sights from the top.
Worthwhile sights is a complete understatement. The clouds rolled through, changing the light and the scenery almost every minute, giving me a chance to photograph in so many more ways than if it had been a perfectly clear day.
Just looking at this photograph gives me goosebumps, due to the overwhelming beauty, as well as how close I came to missing out, because I thought the clouds would hinder my view when those same clouds were determined to be one of the stars of the show!
