Vi was the first collection that I actually managed to curate. I don't know why it was so daunting to try to create a collection, but so many of my first attempts were total flops. One thing that factored in was that I tried to create a grand collection first, and I was trying too hard to include too many of my "most epic photos" and the result was that it was busy and overwhelming.
The lavender photo was taken while in Washington visiting a dear friend. I was visiting for her graduation with a Master's degree, and kept waking up far earlier than everyone else due to how light it was in the early mornings. One morning after waking early, I wandered out to the field across the street and basically frolicked through the field taking photos of the wildflowers. On the way back I couldn't resist taking photos of the lavender that was used in the landscaping. I'm pretty sure I creeped out at least three of her neighbors, but I kept telling myself that most people shouldn't be awake that early.
So, with all of that rabbit-trail-style-story-telling, here is Vi. Made up of a spray of lavender from Washington state, an Okinawan stone wall covered in vines. and a hand painted, cheery "hello".
